Earlier this month, a trailer for Stefano Milla’s cyberpunk action thriller was released on YouTube, and we have some exclusive images and information to share. Wyld One follows Wyld, as she fights to survive the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Megatown.

Synopsis –

In a world where gangs rule the ruins, machines are dying, and the old gods have been buried, one woman refuses to disappear.

She is Wyld.

Hunted across the wastelands of Megatown, Wyld carries something powerful enough to change the balance of a broken world. With enemies closing in and nowhere left to run, survival becomes a choice—and freedom comes at a price.

WYLD ONE is a post-apocalyptic cyberpunk thriller about rebellion, survival, and one woman’s fight against a world that wants to control her.

Wyld One takes place in a sprawling megacity ruled by powerful corporations, criminal organisations, and technology. This is a future that has seen over-consumption of resources, forcing humanity to come together in huge vertical mega-towns. The protagonist, Wyld, is carrying a secret that threatens to upset the balance of power, which makes her a target, as she struggles to fight for freedom. But is it safer in the corporate and technologically controlled mega-towns, or out on the streets ruled by criminal gangs?

Director Stefano Milla tells us the movie was made via a combination of traditional filmmaking techniques, and cutting edge technology like volumetric studios, utilizing digital environments. By using digital techniques and virtual sets, further projects can use the existing assets, allowing for further visits to the world created without the huge costs involved with rebuilding the environment, and allowing the locations to remain consistent. Wyld One is meant as just the first step into a continuing cinematic universe, with a cyberpunk setting that can facilitate an unlimited number of stories to be told, using a growing cast of characters.

The development of digital technology like virtual sets (think The Volume, as used by Lucasfilm in the making of The Mandalorian) make projects in a relatively niche genre like cyberpunk much more financially viable, allowing ambitious projects to no longer remain purely the domain of large movie studios. We’re very much looking forward to Wyld One, and the further development of the cyberpunk world that has been created.

Wyld One is directed by Stefano Milla, who also serves as writer, with Phil Gorn. Melissa Rokuskie plays the titular Wyld, and the movie also stars Carson Lee Bradshaw, Mike Ferguson, Sean Riggs, and Christopher Showerman.
